Campfire Convention 001.UK

Campfire Convention 001.UK takes place in the beautiful spot in the Golden Valley on the English side of The Black Mountains (just a few miles from the original and inspirational first Big Chill Gala event which created history 21 years ago) and utilises one of the most spectacular pub settings in the UK, surrounded by a stream and open fields leading to the Cat's Back and the foothills leading to Offa's Dyke.
Come and experience and contribute to a lively mix of talks, debates, thinkshops and discussions, with a Saturday evening knees up with live music and DJs. The pub will be open throughout the weekend, serving a wide range of locally produced food, along with beers, ciders as well as the usual range of wines, spirits and softs. Arrival on the camp ground will be permitted from daytime Friday, with the main events taking place on Saturday followed by relaxed Sunday sessions.

Download are Campfire Companion brochure here.. a 48 page guide to the weekends events, blogs, local area guide, timetables and much more...
Our music line-up features English roots pioneers Edward II - appearing with Manchurian broadside balladress Jennifer Reid, guitar wizard Adrian Legg, Anna and Elizabeth on tour from the US and folk whirlwind duo Will Pound and Eddy Jay. Our keynote speaker is confirmed as the one and only ambient originator turned activist - Brian Eno - and we're also pleased to welcome the legend that is Greg Wilson to our first Saturday night DJ slot, as well an appearance on a Sunday panel on protest and counterculture, alongside cult author John Higgs.
A full programme of panels and thinkshops can be viewed on this page. Discussion topics include democracy, the refugee opportunity, storytelling and narrative, death and the last life quarter, protest and counterculture, clean learning, entrepreneurship, broadside ballads and universal basic income as well as what we can achieve together as a community at Campfire.
We are also providing a selection of massage therapies, yoga and mindfulness sessions, details here.

Campfire has a concept for a network of global events - it aims to put on a series of events, inspired and co-ordinated by its members, ranging from one night debates through to weekend jamborees.
The launch of a new social network will take place in summer 2016 alongside a new style of camping weekend, built around the inspiration of campfire, storytelling, networking and sharing knowledge which is designed to work in beautiful rural or coastal locations for 500 max people taking place between late May and mid September. 001.UK is our launch event and the only outdoor weekend gathering that we're organising this summer.
