I asked the wrong question

I came across Campfire via a post on fb, and during a pleasurable journey through the new website I began to feel a little frustrated, "yes, but what is it?" So I went away. And then I couldn't concentrate on anything I was doing and felt compelled to return. So, now I still don't know "what it is" but I realise that, esp. at this stage, not knowing is the point; I was asking entirely the wrong question. I don't know what Campfire is, I suppose it is who it attracts. But I know I feel a little excited by it. I think the potential here shines out because there is no overpromising, just a lot of gentle initiative and creativity. I would like to give to that.

Thanks, Jo. Campfire is first and foremost a social network but beyond that it can become many things : publisher, broadcaster, worldwide events hub, portfolio space, skills exchange, post capitalist co-operative community…. there is a definition on our new Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/campfireconvention/ and once we launch the main website it will hopefully take on a life of its own, rather than just being a concept. The directions it can go in are only limited by the scope of the imagination and how those ideas can be applied to everyday pragmatism.. tune in to Resonance FM tomorrow evening 8-9pm for an hour of Campfire chat. x
